Sarah Cutler
Counsellor Advocate
I’m curious about people’s stories and their experiences of resilience. So as a Counsellor providing psycho-social support to refugees from torture and trauma backgrounds, I value the diversity and strength I encounter daily with our clients. My role involves conducting assessments and providing client-centred, therapeutic interventions to support their recovery journey.
Overall, my goal is to help our clients to have choice in and control of their lives, by advocating their resettlement and wellbeing needs. In addition to my Masters in Social Work, I’ve worked in Community Development, Community Mental Health and as a Counsellor Advocate with children and families from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds.
I’m excited about combining my current studies in Therapeutic Arts Practice with social work, to create therapeutic spaces that value the lived experience, support relationship building and offer alternatives for healing.
