Children & Youth Coordinator
Samweli is the Children and Youth Coordinator at Melaleuca, where he supports children and young people through comprehensive case management, mentoring and advocacy. In this role, he works closely with families, schools, and community organisations to ensure holistic support and deliver culturally appropriate services that empower young people to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
With a robust background that includes positions such as School Officer, Assistant Teacher, Inclusion Support Administrator, Therapeutic Residential Carer, and Disability Support Worker, Samweli brings a wealth of practical experience and empathy to his work. His passion lies in fostering environments where young people build confidence and resilience through meaningful relationships, inclusivity and personal growth.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Samweli is actively involved in community engagement initiatives and volunteers in social and humanitarian projects. He has organised events like the Congolese Tournament in Australia, led the St Bakhita Choir in Darwin and is also a dedicated soccer player and musician. Samweli envisions a future where every young person, regardless of their background, has equal access to opportunities, education, and the support needed to succeed in life.
