Mfaume Kakozi
Bicultural Support Worker
My role involves providing support to my colleagues and support to our clients. As a Support Worker, it’s my responsibility to ensure our clients feel welcome the moment they arrive and that their transition towards their new life is as smooth as possible.
This involves speaking with clients from a diverse range of cultures to understand their specific needs, helping them with any issues during their resettlement and advice on how to obtain outside assistance when necessary.
I’m a great believer in giving to others as much as we can and enjoying every moment of life. So, it gives me enormous pleasure if I can help people with their problems or contribute to their happiness, sense of peace and belonging.
During my spare time, I play soccer for several clubs in Darwin, enjoy volunteering at special community events and assist on drums and keyboard for my local choir.
