Theresa Fischer

Case Coordinator

My six years’ experience in supporting refugees and asylum seekers in Australia and overseas has been invaluable. Particularly because, as a Case Coordinator, I’m responsible for helping newly arrived families to settle into and succeed in their new lives in Australia.

I’ve also designed and developed women’s empowerment programs in Thailand and Uganda and worked to reduce child trafficking in Thailand through capacity development in rural communities.

One day I hope to return to working internationally with humanitarian programs, using body work and creative therapies, like yoga, to support recovery in trauma and torture survivors.
